Daily sudoku
Today’s five puzzles from Sudoku Sunrise, Gentle to Expert, the same for everyone. Free in your browser, with hints that explain why.
Today’s puzzles
Tap a square, then a number. Notes, undo and hints are under the board; on a keyboard, type 1 to 9, use the arrow keys, N for notes, H for a hint and Backspace to erase. Your progress stays in this browser and is never sent to Utilava; like every page here, the visit itself is logged (see the privacy policy).
How to play
Fill each row, column and 3×3 box with the numbers 1 to 9, each exactly once. The numbers already on the board are fixed; every puzzle has one solution, and you never need to guess.
Notes are for the numbers a square could still be: turn Notes on and tap numbers to pencil them in. Placing a number clears it from the notes in its row, column and box. A number that clashes with its row, column or box is underlined, and a mistake never ends the game.
Stuck? Hint shows the next step a person could take and names it, and Why this works explains it in plain words. If a number on the board is wrong, the hint says so first, since logic can’t work from it. Every technique the hints use, from the last number left to X-wings and coloring, is explained with an example board in how to solve sudoku.
The five levels
Gentle
A soft start: there’s always a square whose row, column and box leave only one number for it.
Easy
Look for the only spot left for a number in a row, column or box.
Medium
Notes start to matter: pairs, and numbers boxed into one row or column.
Hard
Triples, X-wings and XY-wings.
Expert
Swordfish, XYZ-wings and coloring. Every puzzle still has one solution, reachable by logic alone.
A new set arrives each day by your own date, numbered from the first day, October 11, 2026, which is No. 1.
