About
What the app does.
Almost every unit converter makes you pick one unit, then another, then type. UnitGrid turns that around: you type once, and every unit you care about updates live in a list. Tap any row and it becomes the one you type into, with the current value carried over.
You choose which units stay on screen for each mode, add more from a searchable list, hide the ones you never use, and drag to reorder. The app remembers each mode's list and last amount on your device. No sign-ups, no internet needed.
Modes
Fifteen categories, each with its own list.
Everyday
Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed and time.
Kitchen
Cups, tablespoons, grams and ounces, with an ingredient picker so flour and honey convert correctly.
Technical
Data storage, pressure, energy, power, torque and angles.

Fuel economy (mpg, L/100 km, km/L) and running pace (min/km, min/mi).

One to many
Every unit on your list converts at the same time. There is no “from” and “to” to set up.
Feet + inches, pounds + ounces, stone + pounds
Compound units are entered and shown the way you say them: 6 ft 2 in, 7 lb 8 oz, 11 st 4 lb. Durations and running pace show as 1:30:00 and 5:30.
Cooking that knows the ingredient
A cup of flour and a cup of honey do not weigh the same. Pick the ingredient once and weight ⇄ volume conversions use its density.
A calculator built in
Add, subtract, multiply, divide and take percentages right in the amount field.
Your units, your order
Add units from a searchable list, swipe to hide, drag to reorder. Each mode keeps its own list.
Starts with your system
Opens with sensible metric, US or UK units based on your device's Region setting, never your location.
Exact where it matters
Conversion factors use the exact definitions (1 in = 2.54 cm, 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg). Choose 4 to 10 significant digits.

A new phone or your iPad
Once you buy it, the purchase will belong to your Apple Account. On another iPhone or an iPad signed in with the same account, open the App Store, tap your account picture, then Apps, and download UnitGrid again at no charge.
Refunds
Apple handles the payment, so refunds go through Apple: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com (opens in a new tab). If something isn't working, tell us first at support@utilava.com; we'd rather fix it.
